Dude... preloader...

I know it's a little thing, but seriously - you can copy-paste one from the Newgrounds page. Even the worst of the worst usually have one. It's not too big a deal but... try to be considerate.

Anyways, I second that this is much too short. Pretty well done, all things considered. But I'm not sure it can really be rated as a movie with this kind of length. It's just a technical experiment, so I can't give you a great score. Sorry.

Scene Identification

"It's gonna hurt but I'll have to say goodbye" - You had this line written in one of the samples. Was that an unmade music video for "Dreaming of You," by The Coral (used on Scrubs)?

Also, one of the scenes looked like an animated version of a scene from George of the Jungle, which was one of my favorite movies when I was younger.

Anyways, awesome movie. I know it was kind of a demonstrational clip show, but the music worked incredibly well with the incredible, fluid animation.

Heh, you're good. It was indeed made for a cancelled collab on that song. Full segment on my Sheezyart somewhere. As for the other one, just search my NG movies for 'Bad Guy Falls In Poop'.

Man Lump!

Blockhead is the funniest cartoon on Newgrounds. I must admit, I was worried when you announced that this cartoon would be in the style of early Blockhead, as the new ones are really my favorite, but coupled with the new style of animation introduced in the last one, I really thought this movie worked incredibly well. One of my favorites to date, tied with 9, 8, and 7.

Congratulations on another instant classic.

Astounding

Blockhead is by far one of the most entertaining and original series ever to grace the internet. I have to admit, the new style made me take a few seconds to get my bearings, but after that it just improved an already amazing series. While Blockhead has always been well animated, I never associated with the most visually pleasing animations on Newgrounds until this film. Really terrific work.

I feel that Time Squad lacked this style, and I would really have liked to see it with the all around fluid and in depth animation that you have here. That being said, I've seen the action test with the police officer on your website, and I think I might have my wish granted if even a mini-sequel is on the horizon.

The humor of this movie never misses a beat. Completely off the wall and hysterical. I watch the series because of how funny it is (though the new style helps, now, as well), and this film certainly did not disappoint. I was hoping for a more specific introduction than Blockhead at a stopsign (my favorite intros are Blockhead in the Courtroom with the Law and Order opening sound, the interaction between him and the Supermarket Check-Out guy, and the Donnie Darko parody). The stopsign thing worked, though, and was funny, so I'm not really complaining. I loved the concept of the film itself - Blockhead emulates the girl from the Ring. Brilliant.

I know you're working on some other stuff right now, and I look forward to that, but I also can't wait until the next Blockhead. Also, just so you know, if you were to sell a Blockhead Compilation DVD on your site, I'm sure it would be popular. I'd buy it.

Eh.

First of all, let me say that I am a huge fan of the Swain in general, and the Blockhead series is one of my favorite webtoons of all time. Secondly, Heroes is my favorite T.V. show. I'm even a big fan of the X-Men comic books.

I really thought this movie was funny, but a little in bad taste. While I don't think that the purpose of this movie was to offend, I really thought that the exaggerated and unfavorable portrayal of the Indian people, while amusing, went a bit too far. For that reason I simply couldn't enjoy this satire to its full potential.

I did, on the other hand, love the X-Men joke, and the joke about the song at the end that took the internet by storm, and that I won't even attempt to spell. The animation was great, and the voice acting was pretty good, all things considered. The Swain is still one of my favorite animators and an inspiration for my own films. It was a funny movie... It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth, is all.

The-Swain responds:

I noticed you're from New York, which I suppose explains your exposure to anti-Indian racism? Rest assured, this wasn't an attack on Indians. I mentioned somewhere else that this is an attack on how Heroes is filled with Indian stereotypes, and yet Suresh is somehow immune to every single one of them. It makes me suspect that the writers were doing this deliberately and carefully. So, that's my reason for that part of the comedy element.

Besides, I'm The Swain. I don't make offensive cartoons. :) Shock value is not my bag.

Short, but good.

I mean, even though it is really short, the animation was really good. I agree that it needs to be longer. This makes me wonder, though: A Lego movie to a stop motion film is sort of like a sprite movie to a regular animated film, in that Lego and sprite movies, the characters are made for you and you just have to animate them, but in drawn animation and claymation you need to make your own characters. So then, if sprite movies are so popular, why aren't there any more Lego movies? They have potential, as you show here.

Fairly funny...

I've seen an episode of the show, plus it is generic anime, so I appreciate the humor. The greatest comedy comes from truths.

Thanx's

I didn't blam this...

The only reason I didn't blam this is because I think that overpopulation and the ways countries are dealing with them need to be known, especially with what they are doing in China. However, the ending to the movie completely disgusted me. Letting people die? Do you suggest we end modern medicine? Shut down the Earth's hospitals? Can't you think of a more inventive solution than allowing millions to die? Remember that the reason overpopulation is a problem is that it causes people to die slow and painful deaths. Why trade in one evil for another? At least through modern medicine we can say we tried.

The only n00bish movie I gave a 5 to...

Usually I stay away from movies that have their titles in different caps and have misspellings in their descriptions and all that, but I decided to try this out because it was Star Wars. It was insanely funny. The fast pace and randomness just made it the movie of the day for me, regardless of what the rest of the portal thinks.

xtil responds:

;D

The sound killed it.

Nothing can be funny with those voices. They make babies cry. Find some other way to do them.
